Restaurant Review: The Anchorline

As a lot of people are probably aware Glasgow is a town that has something for everyone, whether that be the bustling nightlife on a Friday and Saturday night or the tranquillity of going to somewhere like the Blythswood for a relaxing spa retreat.

Over the coming weeks I am hoping to encapsulate all of this in the restaurants that are being reviewed, with hopes that all readers can take away a few ideas for places to try for their next date or a place to try with friends

The first place that will be reviewed is The Anchorline.

Located on St Vincent Place in Glasgow City Centre

The Anchorline is one of my absolute favourite places to go for a great steak dinner. Upon entry to the restaurant the first thing that must be noticed is the huge bar filled with many different beers and spirits. It even says on the menu that they can make any cocktail you want if they have all of the components which I think is a very nice touch.

In my opinion this steak is one of the best steaks that you can get in Glasgow, after going to Miller and Carter for years I decided a switch up was needed and so off to the Anchorline we went, this was not a mistake as this is my go-to place for big events like a birthday or anniversary.

When I have been to the Anchorline I got the Seared King Scallops to start, the 650g chateaubriand sharing steak, that is more than enough for 2 people as it comes with your choice of side, I went with the hand cut chips and we also shared a mac and cheese. If I am honest along with dessert the mac and cheese was far too much food.

Regarding the service, it has always been great and have no complaints in that aspect either. You are never left sitting with empty plates or glasses for any longer than a few minutes.

Overall, the Anchorline can be expensive but for a treat every now and again it is worth it, especially for the big occasions.

Food- 10/10
