Restaurant Review: La Vita Spuntini

Image
The next and last restaurant that will be reviewed is one which I am sure many people have heard of if they are in and around of Glasgow. It is a favourite with people of all ages but particularly students. The place I am talking about is La Vita Spuntini. Specializing in Italian cuisine this is one of my favourite places to go for a pasta dish. Another restaurant that is stone’s throw away from Glasgow Central train station it is a very convenient place to get to, of course based in central Glasgow, 40 Gordon Street, Glasgow G1 3PU Have a look at the menu here https://lavitapizzeria.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/La-Vita-Spuntini-Gordon-Street-A-la-Carte-Menu.pdf The menu offers a lot of different Italian foods, ranging from things like pizza and pasta which are of course favourites of this type of food. I do not have any pictures of the food which I got; this just speaks volumes to how great it is. Didn’t want to waste any time taking pictures. With a quick Instagram search howev

Restaurant Review: Döner Haus

Image
In the next instalment of my blog I will be reviewing a place I assume a lot of you haven’t heard of, this place being Döner Haus in Glasgow. Based in central Glasgow it is only about a 5-minute walk from Glasgow central train station, making it an easy place to get to and from and worth a try if you are in town. It is located on 85 W Nile St, Glasgow G1 2SH Look at the menu here if you are wanting to try something a little bit different https://www.donerhaus.uk/menu Döner Haus specialise in German cuisine, ranging from things like Kebaps, (essentially an upscale doner kebab). I usually get the checkpoint cheesy kebap whenever I go here, and I’ll insert a picture below to show you what it looks like.  If Kebabs are not usually your thing, then do not worry, there are other options like Teller, Schnitzel, or currywurst to name a few. There are also a lot of sides to go along with each main, the usual things like onion rings or skin on fries are offered. In my opinion the best side they

Restaurant Review: Yippon

Image
In true Strathclyde University fashion, the next restaurant that I will be reviewing is Yippon . If you attend Strathclyde then I am sure you know of this place, either you have walked past it heading to class or you have stopped in for a spot of lunch at some point. Located on 106 George St, Glasgow G1 1RF Have a look at the menu here https://www.yipponsushi.co.uk/menu Yippon is one of my favourite places for a quick meal, it does a lot of similar things to the restaurant I reviewed before but in a more informal way.   Yippon does a variety of different sushi’s, bubble teas and staple dished like salt and chilli chicken, chips etc. Each time I have went to Yippon I have never been disappointed; the staff are always very friendly and accommodating. So much so that when we were in lockdown, I would often find myself venturing into the city centre of Glasgow for my Yippon fix.   As I have spoken a lot about sushi etc in my last blog entry I want to tell you more about the simpler dis

Restaurant Review: SALT

Image
The next restaurant that I will be talking about is not in the city centre of Glasgow. I know that goes against the name of the blog, but I just could not leave this one out. The place I am talking about is SALT in Hamilton. Located on 115 Cadzow St, Hamilton, ML3 6HG   Have a look at the menu here: https://saltsushi.co.uk/ It is an absolute must try if you are a fan of Japanese food and great cocktails, SALT does a range of items from different types of sushi, katsu curries and some of their own speciality fries.   I know the idea of going to a Japanese place might be daunting for some people and trust me I was the same, I assumed when sushi was mentioned that it was raw fish only, this is not the case at all. It is now one of my favourite types of food to eat, and if I am honest SALT is the best of this type I have tried. When I went to salt, I was amazed at the variety of different items they had on the menu, it was such a hard time deciding what to have as I could’ve had m

Restaurant Review: The Anchorline

Image
As a lot of people are probably aware Glasgow is a town that has something for everyone, whether that be the bustling nightlife on a Friday and Saturday night or the tranquillity of going to somewhere like the Blythswood for a relaxing spa retreat. Over the coming weeks I am hoping to encapsulate all of this in the restaurants that are being reviewed, with hopes that all readers can take away a few ideas for places to try for their next date or a place to try with friends The first place that will be reviewed is The Anchorline. Located on St Vincent Place in Glasgow City Centre https://www.theanchorline.co.uk/menus The Anchorline is one of my absolute favourite places to go for a great steak dinner. Upon entry to the restaurant the first thing that must be noticed is the huge bar filled with many different beers and spirits. It even says on the menu that they can make any cocktail you want if they have all of the components which I think is a very nice touch. In my opinion this steak
