Restaurant Review: SALT

The next restaurant that I will be talking about is not in the city centre of Glasgow. I know that goes against the name of the blog, but I just could not leave this one out.

The place I am talking about is SALT in Hamilton.

Located on 115 Cadzow St, Hamilton, ML3 6HG

Have a look at the menu here: https://saltsushi.co.uk/

It is an absolute must try if you are a fan of Japanese food and great cocktails, SALT does a range of items from different types of sushi, katsu curries and some of their own speciality fries.

I know the idea of going to a Japanese place might be daunting for some people and trust me I was the same, I assumed when sushi was mentioned that it was raw fish only, this is not the case at all. It is now one of my favourite types of food to eat, and if I am honest SALT is the best of this type I have tried.

When I went to salt, I was amazed at the variety of different items they had on the menu, it was such a hard time deciding what to have as I could’ve had most of the menu.

If you have never been to this type of restaurant then it may be a little strange as all the food is served when it is ready, not like starters mains and desserts as you may be used to. I will list off everything I ordered on the night

·       Karaage chicken Steamed bun

·       Chicken teriyaki classic sushi roll

·       Chicken Katsu Curry

·       Japanese Curry Fires

·       Edamame beans

On top of this cocktails and drinks were ordered, unfortunately I was driving this night so I cannot comment on the taste of the alcoholic drinks but I have been assured that they’re very tasty.

After ordering all of this food I was very surprised when the bill came at the end of the night, bearing in mind that drinks were ordered too the bill came to round about £60 which I think is a very reasonable price for what you get.

Overall SALT is a place I would go back to time and time again,

Food- 9/10

Service- 7/10

Atmosphere- 6/10

Price- 10/10
